Brewing beer isn’t the only passion I have. Baking and baking sourdough has increasingly been a focus. I think I finally figured out how to produce quality sourdough.

Come out and see us!

Another day, another exciting announcement! Birch Tree Brewing will be back at the 4th Annual Rotary Craft Beer Festival presented by Loyal Source on Saturday April 15th in Avalon Park. Birch Tree Brewing doesn't yet have a brick-and-mortar building, but they are a staple on the local craft beer festival circuit and their creative brews are fantastic! Beyond beer, Birch Tree has selected the American Heart Association - Florida as their designated charity in the new B.Y.O.C (Bring Your Own Charity) format - the Rotary Club of Avalon Park will donate a portion of proceeds on behalf of Birch Tree Brewing to the American Heart Association as a participating brewer.

Another tasty brew is on its way! Crystal clear and sure to please. Coming soon to a beer festival. 🇧🇪🍻

Why Birch Tree Brewing?

Birch trees are graceful trees with pale bark and bright, heart-shaped leaves and have always been a favorite of mine. The home I grew up in had a big triple trunk paper birch in the yard and when I moved to Delaware I planted one in my yard there. In Central and South Florida we really cant have them due to the heat but River Birch Trees are found in North Florida.

It’s my hope to bring some of that great outdoors feeling to a brewery. The cool crisp days of Fall were always my favorite and I want to create a welcoming atmosphere where the outdoors is all around as you gather with friends to share in good times.

In Celtic cultures, the birch symbolizes growth, renewal, stability, initiation and adaptability. Birches were among the first trees to become established after the glaciers receded and have been known to live for up to 200 years. Early American Indians discovered they could use birch trees (especially their bark) for a number of everyday things.

  • Birch bark has been used as paper for centuries…long before what we know now as the paper was invented.
