It’s not always sunshine and rainbows at Disney… literally. ☔🏰

We arrived at Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center ready to hop on the monorail… only to find out it was closed because of the weather. 🌧️

Plot twist: we took the ferry instead, and honestly? It ended up being a fun way to start the day.

One thing I’ve learned about Disney trips is that even when plans change, the memories usually end up being even better. That’s just part of the adventure… and part of the chaos. 😉

Have you ever had weather throw a wrench into your Disney plans? Tell me your best rainy Disney story below! 👇

I finally made it to Toastique for brunch today, and I’m wondering why I waited so long!

I tried the seasonal Peach & Prosciutto Toast (with smoked salmon added because…protein goals 💪) and paired it with the Iced Vanilla Sea Foam Latte. Both were absolutely delicious, and the latte was almost too pretty to drink.

One of my favorite parts of the visit was chatting with one of the staff members who turned out to be a Rampart High alum. It’s always fun when our Colorado Springs community feels a little smaller.

If you’re in the Voyager area and looking for a fresh breakfast, brunch, or coffee spot, I’d definitely recommend giving Toastique a try.

Have you been? What’s your favorite thing on the menu? 👇

If I could only choose one trip this summer, Disney would win every time. 🏰✨

Yes, it’s hot. Yes, it’s humid. But I’ll gladly brave the weather for Main Street, the Carousel of Progress before its refurb, Beak & Barrel, that unmistakable pirate water smell (if you know, you know 😄), and fireworks that still make me stop and watch every single time.

Would you visit Disney in the summer, or would you wait for cooler weather?

I swear this happens every single Disney trip. 😂

The moment we walk through the gates, Harry switches into Disney Dad Mode. Suddenly he’s on a mission to maximize every minute, beat every crowd, and somehow power-walk across the park while the rest of us are trying not to lose him.

He’s chasing rides.
I’m chasing him.

That’s Mapping Chaos.

Does your family have a Disney Dad? 😂👇

I genuinely thought I’d sleep on our Frontier redeye.

I even took a nap before the flight so I’d be perfectly tired at the right time.

Spoiler alert: I didn’t sleep.

The next day’s itinerary was powered almost entirely by coffee and determination. 😂

Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s convinced themselves they’ll sleep on a plane… only to stare at the seat in front of them for hours.

That’s Mapping Chaos.

Up before sunrise for one of our favorite Colorado Springs traditions. 🤠🥞

Even though we love to go out to eat, it can be fun to stay in and make a homemade meal. I made chicken and savory waffles (think veggies inside protein waffle mix) with homemade whipped honey butter, and a jalapeño popper salad, because you know- balance?!

What is a wild dish that you’ve made recently that just works? I’d love some inspiration for future meals!

We could smell Yellowstone before we even got out of the car.

At first I thought something was wrong. Then we realized we were approaching the geothermal areas and those famous mud pots.

They were fascinating to watch and photograph, but wow… the sulfur smell is no joke!

Worth every second though.

One thing Yellowstone taught us is that you don’t have to do everything to have an incredible trip.

Some of our favorite memories weren’t the famous attractions at all. They were the moments in between—hiking with friends, laughing our way past stinky mud pots, taking time to enjoy a drink with a view, and spotting wildlife that definitely wasn’t on the schedule.

Travel has a funny way of reminding us that the best experiences often happen when we leave room for them.

So here’s our advice for your next adventure:

🥾 Share the adventure
♨️ Embrace local experiences
🍹 Slow down and enjoy the moment
🐻 Leave room for the unexpected

Trust us—the unexpected usually makes the best stories.

What’s the most unexpected thing that’s happened on one of your trips? 👇
