Snuck on to Chris instagram to share an update. (This is his wife).

On April 3, our family’s business—our clamming boat—burned down at the Wellfleet pier. Fully totaled. I was headed to the airport for Cory’s birthday trip to Florida. Chris got a call, and just like that, everything changed.

This wasn’t just a boat. It was our primary source of income.

It was also what allowed Chris to leave offshore scalloping and return to local clamming—so I could finish my master’s degree, intern full-time (unpaid), and work toward a more stable future supporting kids’ mental health in our local schools.

Chris has done everything to carry us this year: fishing nearly every day, rebuilding that boat with his own hands, helping with childcare so I could attend classes and my internship, donating to community events—always showing up for others, even while quietly carrying the load for us.

Insurance is slow. The gear is gone. And the fishing season is ticking by. We’ve done our best to handle things quietly—but we’ve reached the point where we could really use a little help getting back on the water.

Scallops for the market today will be late (the scallops are coming off the boat and from Ptown). If you are going to the market for scallops. Try for 4pm-6pm versus the earlier start of the market or reach out to us to check in.

We will have scallops today at the from 3-6pm! We’ve sold out every week this summer so call, text, message, or email and we’ll set aside however many lbs you like so long as we haven’t run out!
