Our first incubation chick is hatching! 🐣

This adventure has been all trial and error— literally. We got a couple turkey eggs from our friends and decided to put them into the incubator to see if we could succeed on hatching them. We put them in April 3rd. Turkey eggs take 28 days to hatch so we should have had them May 1st. The kids kept adding some of the chicken eggs we are getting into the incubator as well to try to hatch them. Well, our power ended up going out for a few seconds a couple weeks in, and we didn’t even think about the incubator turning off. A day or so went by until I had noticed it wasn’t running. So, we thought we had lost all of the eggs we put in but still were waiting it out to see what had happened. Turns out one has made it!

Our Garden is all planted! My MIL took photos and I’m so thankful she did. It’s cool to see the progress and hard work coming together. Hopefully soon we will be seeing veggies and fruits! The kids helped and planted the cucumbers and watermelons!
