2021 has not been kind to SpuzBeez - decent population of bees, but NO honey!! We speculate the drought is to blame...

We'll give them the month of August and see if anything changes, but it's not looking good folks.

WORLD BEE DAY

World Bee Day is celebrated on May 20. On this day Anton Janša, the pioneer of beekeeping, was born in Slovenia in 1734.

Anton Janša was a Carniolan apiarist and painter. Janša is known as a pioneer of modern apiculture and a great expert in the field. He was educated as a painter, but was employed as a teacher of apiculture at the Habsburg court in Vienna.

The purpose of the international day is to acknowledge the role of bees and other pollinators for the ecosystem.
