Last day with dahlias here for 2026.

It is definitely bittersweet seeing these flowers go. There are so many amazing blooms out here. I managed to take a couple of days off this weekend and I feel motivated to get back in the fields again for my weekly harvests.

The flowers ended up surviving the frost last week after our end of season you pick, but we started chopping the fields down so the tubers can start to harden up for the season. I am trying to give them a bit more time than the last few years so they store better. I plan on expanding the farm back out and will be relying on a lot of my own tubers to build up my personal stock again.

I thought I would show you all a few of my dahlia seedlings I've been working on for 3 seasons now. There are around 10 that I am really excited about. These will be moving into my production fields for 2027 and I hope to introduce tubers in 2028.

Today I spent all day surrounded by flowers ❤️

There is a high likelihood that tonight will be the frost that puts an end to the flowers for the season. I was busy in the fields harvesting one last time and then picked a few buckets of blooms for us to enjoy at home.

Even if we don't receive frost tonight, tomorrow I will start chopping the plants down to put the tubers to sleep before we dig.

This season represented the end of a reset period for the farm. For the last two years I've been working on improving my soil quality on the farm. This year, the dahlias have been looking better than they have in years and I feel comfortable to again expand to around an acre and a half of dahlias.

It has been a wild season, and although the weather was challenging, it was a successful one. Not just from the support of our customers, but also at an emotional level. Normally by the end of the season, I look forward to mowing all the dahlias down and ending the season. Normally I'm exhausted and not wanting to see another flower.

This year, I would like a few days off (I've been working 12 hours days, 7 days a week since mid August), but I am going to miss these beautiful flowers.

This year the end is definitely a little more bittersweet.

This is looking like the end!

They are calling for frost Monday evening, so there is a good chance this will be your last chance to get your dahlia fix for the season.

We have an absolutely gorgeous assortment of dahlias, zinnias, and foliage that I picked fresh from our fields today.

We are also running a 50% off sale on our house plants this weekend. I would love for these plants to find a home before winter kicks in.

Our hours will be:

Friday from 5pm to 7pm
Saturday from 10am to 1pm
Sunday from 10am to 1pm

Our end of season you pick is scheduled for Sunday evening and is currently sold out. If the flowers are looking really good, I might list a few more, but they will go QUICK. I suggest signing up for an email alert right on the page where you purchase tickets to be alerted if I add more.

🌻 End of Season Announcement 🌻

The forecast for Monday night is calling for 32 degrees so I have picked a day for our End of Season You Pick!

This even sold out in just a few hours! Thank you so much. There is a chance I'll list a few more tickets if the field is looking good. Stay tuned for updates!

Sunday, October 4th we will be having our "Bring Your Own Bucket" You Pick. For this event you are welcome to bring any size bucket to our fields and pick to your hearts content. While most people bring something the size of a 3 gallon bucket, it is wild to see what people load up with flowers! My only rule is that you must be able to carry the container 😂

Over the years it has been so much fun seeing what people do with this event. Most folks use this opportunity to share flowers with friends, family, and their communities and spread so much joy with the world.

This will be the last opportunity to pick flowers from our fields for the 2026 season. I can't believe we have already reached the end, but here it is. Next week I will be starting the bittersweet process of chopping down the fields so they can be put to rest.

This will also be the final weekend of our farmstand for the season. I believe it is Brandon's homecoming this week. We will have lots of beautiful flowers for anyone interested!

I'll be posting here on occassion to help out Michael, especially when we're in the busiest seasons... I have a little more time for social media!

We know this weekend is Homecoming for Clarkston (anyone else?), so we will be opening the farm stand a little early on Friday in case anyone needs flowers before the parade! We will be open on Saturday as well so you can build your bouquets before the big dance ❤️

Saturday 9/26 10-1
Sunday 9/27 10-1

PS I know a little girl who might have some bracelets to sell, too! 😉

Where has the week gone!?!

This is the first week of the season where I can finally say that I am starting to feel the pressure. Between handing and harvesting orders, (slowly) answering emails, hosting you picks, working on getting the farm stand up and running, dealing with storm damage, harvesting in the rain, and trying to be a good husband and step dad, I am definitely feeling the pressure.

My intent was to be on here much more than I have been, but alas, I have failed at that once again.

I am using the opportunity of the rain this morning to offer a quick update on the new farm stand! We will be open through the rest of the season, offering a variety of dahlias, zinnias, sunflowers, and house plants.

Our hours are:

Friday 5pm to 7pm
Saturday 10am to 1pm
Sunday from 10am to 1pm

I am very proud of what we put together after many years of work on this stand. The feedback has been great so far!

🎉 Our Farm Stand Is Open 🎉

I am soooo excited that after years and years of work, our farm stand is FINALLY open!

Today is the Grand Opening of our farm stand!! We will be open today (Sunday) from 10am to 1pm, Fridays from 5pm to 7:30pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm and Sundays from 10am to 1pm!

Let me know what you guys think of how it looks! I am very very proud of it. It has been so long in the making ❤️

🎉 EXCITING NEWS 🎉

Tomorrow, for the first time EVER, our farm stand will be open for Dahlia season!!!

Guys, this has been years in the making. I have wanted to do this forever and I am so excited it is finally happening!

Here are the details:

The farmstand will be open tomorrow, from 10am to 1pm and will take place at the same time as our You Pick (there are still a handful of tickets left for that too).

The farmstand will have a variety of dahlias by the stem (just like the Rochester Farmer's Market), zinnias, sunflowers, mason jar arrangements, houseplants, succulents, shirts, and hoodies!

I am really proud of how it all came together. In the morning I plan to get a proper video and photos of everything before we open and it's loaded with flowers. Natalie thought I should probably post tonight so a few more of you have the chance to see the news!

Moving forward, starting Friday the 18th, the farm stand will be open Fridays from 5pm until 7:30pm and Saturdays from 10am until 1pm. Depending on how things go, we might have flowers available on Sundays too!

Thank you all for your support and I am so excited to be able to FINALLY offer you flowers from our farm right here on the farm.

A few of the flowers that were sent out this week!

This marks the first official week of the season. There were 100s more flowers than I even took pictures of that left the farm this week. We started out You Picks on Sunday and I had a full week of orders (that I harvested all by myself) that went out to a bunch of different customers. I dream, plan, and work all year for this moment. It is sad that it goes by so quickly.

I've written about that in the past. How fast it all goes, but how that also makes these flowers so much more special. If they were always here, we would take them for granted. The time we are without flowers, makes the time with them that much more special. It is a good metaphor for many things in life.

I'm doing my best keeping up with the emails, washing buckets (So. Many. Buckets.), harvesting, delivering, and making sure I visit the kiddos school for meet the teacher night. It is a whirlwind this time of the year. But I certainly do love it ❤️
