Large format Indigo Tie Dye
This take on our classic indigo tie dye class is designed with your larger objects in mind! Do you have overalls, sheets, dresses or jackets that you want to use indigo tie dye techniques to dye but you were worried that your object would be too large? This class will walk you through some of the traditional Japanese tie dye techniques and guide you to create your own beautiful designs in indigo. Smaller projects welcome too!

Minimum class size- 2
Age- 7+ (all children must be accompanied by an adult)
Dye Buckthorn Dye!
This natural dye class will focus on dyeing with one of our most invasive plants in Vermont, glossy buckthorn. This class will walk you through dye bath preparation, color shifting the dye using various mineral salts and some fun techniques to create variation in your fabric or garment. Participants should bring some natural fiber garments in a very light color, light colored yarn or light colored fabric to dye. Participants will also be emailed instructions on how to prepare their fabric for dye before the class but this is an optional step.

Cyanotypes on Fabric
This class will explore the world of cyanotype printing on a fabric medium. This Victorian age technique allows the student to create landscape scenes, abstract designs and negative images of various objects in a beautiful white and blue print. This fabric then can be used by the participants in sewing projects, as patches or hung up as home decor. We will use UV lights duriing this process. Students will also have the opportunity to send a high contrast photo to the instructor to be printed ahead of time on film to use as a negative.
