It’s been a while since we’ve sold so much milk that we simply cannot keep up — and while being sold out isn’t ideal, it means something pretty incredible:
You guys are showing up and supporting our little farm. And for that, we are SO incredibly grateful. ❤️
There is a lot that goes into the milk you see sitting in our farm store.
Milking cows is A LOT of work. And if I’m being completely transparent, there are days when we wonder why in the world we do it — especially during the seasons when we have more milk than we know what to do with.
It’s milking after you’ve worked all day and all you want to do is sit down and relax.
It’s milking when you’re sick.
It’s milking when you don’t have anyone to help with the kids, so you wait for nap time and run outside the second their little heads hit the pillow.
It’s milking when it’s -10° outside and when it’s 100° outside.
It’s knowing there really aren’t “days off.” Because if you skip a day, your cow is the one who suffers for it.
It’s planning vacations around finding someone who not only can milk, but knows your cows — and then feeling guilty because you know exactly how much work you’re handing over.
It’s leaving somewhere early or not staying out too late because, no matter what else is going on, the cows still need milked.
It’s scrubbing and sanitizing equipment over and over again… only to have a cow decide she’s had enough of your nonsense, kick something over, and suddenly that beautiful milk you worked for is headed to the pigs instead. 😅
It’s muddy boots, early mornings, late evenings, sore bodies, spilled milk, stubborn cows, and doing it all over again tomorrow.
There is so much work, time, responsibility, and love behind every single gallon of milk you take home from our store.
So when we say THANK YOU for supporting our farm, please know we truly, truly mean it. ❤️
Every gallon you buy makes all of those days worth it.
And apparently you guys have been really making it worth it lately because…
WE ARE SOLD OUT OF MILK! 🥛🙌
We will be out until Sunday while our girls work on restocking the fridge. 😂 We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience so much!
The good news? We have TWO more cows due to calf anytime now, so before long I have a feeling we’ll be right back to having more milk than we know what to do with. 🤪
Until then, the farm store is still loaded with goodies, so don’t let the empty milk fridge keep you away!
Thank you for buying local.
Thank you for supporting a small family farm.
Thank you for appreciating the work that goes into producing your food.
And thank you for giving us a reason to keep doing this crazy, exhausting, wonderful thing. ❤️🐄
We appreciate you more than you know.
