Health by Plants

Health by Plants . For personal, environmental, and sustainability reasons, we don't use pesticides, herbicides, GMO's or animal inputs of any kind in our operation.

We grow on a half-acre in raised beds and in a geodesic greenhouse, where we implement ecologically-friendly practices like composting and crop rotation to maintain our small and highly diverse farm. We were inspired to live a plant-based lifestyle after watching the documentary, “Forks Over Knives” in 2012. In 2016, we earned certificates in Plant-Based nutrition from eCornell/ T. Colin Campbell

Center for Nutrition Studies. From there, we started raising our own fruits and vegetables and soon after decided to bring our produce to market.

Made it to the Oshkosh Farmers Markets!

We do plan to be at the Oshkosh Farmers Markets this Saturday, the 19th! Still not the ideal growing season out here, but I anticipate we will have lettuce, radishes, beans and maybe a few other odds and ends, possibly some Shiitakes. No Spicy mix for at least another week or two, it was all drowned by the rains of the past few weeks. Carrots will be another week or two as well.

Pre-orders will be available as always, I suggest waiting until late morning on Friday for the most accurate inventory.

Sorry all, we will NOT be at the Oshkosh Farmers Markets this weekend (July 12). We are finally getting a few things, but not nearly enough for a market yet!

Just an FYI, we will NOT be at the Oshkosh Farmers Markets this week (July 5th). The ongoing monsoons really slowed down the crops for our first market. We are adding a market back to our schedule for later in the summer and will see you on July 12!

Greetings all! We just wanted to let you know that we won’t be at the Oshkosh Farmers Markets until the first July market, and will conclude our season at the end of September. See you in about a month!

Our Story

Health By Plants in Pine River, WI, became the first Certified Naturally Grown produce farm in Waushara County in June of 2016 and the first Certified Naturally Grown mushroom producer in the state of Wisconsin in 2019.

We sell our produce at the Oshkosh Downtown Farmers Market (June thru October). We are also offering direct pickup from the farm. To order for pickup simply visit our website, www.healthbyplants.com, and place your order! We grow on a half-acre in raised beds and in a geodesic greenhouse, where we implement ecologically-friendly practices like composting and crop rotation to maintain our small and highly diverse farm.

For personal, environmental, and sustainability reasons, we don't use animal inputs of any kind in our operation. Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) is a certification program for farmers and beekeepers who use natural practices, without any synthetic chemicals or GMOs, to produce food for their local communities. Many farmers choose CNG because its peer-review inspections serve to foster direct relationships and learning opportunities among farmers, in addition to verifying the program standards are being upheld.
