Not everything on the farm is picture-perfect. This old crabapple in our backyard is showing cedar-apple rust — those bright red spots with fuzzy growths underneath are a giveaway.

It’s a reminder that farming (and gardening) is about working with nature. Sometimes that means pests and diseases show up no matter what. We can prune, clean up leaves, or choose resistant plants, but there’s no such thing as a perfect tree.

Sharing this because it’s easy to think everyone else’s gardens are flawless. Truth is — they’re not. And that’s okay. 🌳🍎❤️

It was a full-on family affair—dirt, laughter, teamwork, and just the right amount of chaos. Couldn’t have done it without some serious inspiration (and plants!) from McKay Garden Center - Oshkosh!
