✨Fun Fact Friday✨

Did you know,
Cows don’t have front upper teeth?? 🧐
It’s true! They instead have a tough leathery ridge called a dental pad!

Their bottom incisors and upper dental pad act like dull scissors to shear plants.

From tiny newborns to growing girls! 🐮💕

On March 2, 2023, these twin heifers were born!

Yep—twins! My very first set of dizygous (fraternal) twins. One uterus, two placentas, and two calves that look absolutely nothing alike!

I snapped some fresh pictures of them this morning. These days, they're living the good life—lounging around, and eating everything they can. It's been a blessing watching them grow, and become mother of their own!❤️

Last but certainly not least, and my personal favorite, we have Squeak

Squeak is our ambitious little girl. She may be one of the smaller calves in the group, but what she lacks in size she makes up for with determination and smarts. Always curious and quick to figure things out, Squeak knows how to keep up with the big girls.

Second to last is Red Panda

Red Panda earned her name from the striking red patches around her eyes that resemble her namesake. She's a social butterfly who is always ready to join her friends for a game or adventure in the pen. Her playful spirit and unique markings make her hard to miss.

Up next is Daisy

Daisy may look like a classic black-and-white calf at first glance, but if you look closer, you'll find hints of reddish-brown in her coat. She is the shy girl of the group, but loves to play with and can often be found running around with her friends, making the most of every day.

Today’s calf is Burnt Marshmallow (Marsh)

Marsh is our sweet attention-seeker who never passes up the chance for a little extra love. She's usually the first to greet visitors with a kiss and is always looking for scratches and pets. Her name comes from her mother, a beautiful all-white cow named Marshmallow, making Burnt Marshmallow a fitting name for this special girl.
