Buttercup 🌼💛 and Snowdrop ❄️ are doing great! Buttercup is 1 month old now and Snowdrop is 2 months old. Both are grazing, drinking water & nursing (a LOT) and Snowdrop has started to nibble at grain. They are so silly in this video playing with a stick. We love watching them grow!!
Now only time will tell if we are done with our cria season … or if Rambina is just really holding on to hers (she’s at day 364 and I swear I see movement 👀). Rambina is know to have pretty petite cria so perhaps her belly has just been shy.

An early sunset from the Canadian wildfire smoke a few nights ago. Thankful that since then we’ve gotten 3 inches of much needed rain and the forecast is calling for cooler temperatures into next week. If you look carefully, you should be able to see all 9 of the alpacas and Kitty the🦙 here. The 3 boys in their pasture and the 7 girls in theirs.

We had two littles get their first haircut this shearing season - This sweetheart, Lilje av Nordlys 🌌 (Lilly of the Northern Lights) was born May 14, 2025 and her first shearing was just shy of 13 months - June 13, 2026! We were SO curious to see her coat pattern more closely under her beautiful cria fleece — and we were were happily surprised to see the details in her speckled / Appaloosa Pinto pattern! She’s just such a fun multi-colored girl! How would you describe her coat?

We are SO eager to see how her second fleece grows in - the second usually drapes better as it won’t have cria tips on the blanket (belly part) ends.

As the newest, Buttercup 🧈🌼 has gotten a lot of attention from our yearling alpaca Nordlys (multicolored one) as well has the guard llama Kitty. I just love to see how the adults help protect, correct, and teach the little cria! Mama Allegra seems to allow the “aunties” to help as long as Buttercup still knows who to return to for the milkbar 🥛

Snowdrop “Snøklokke” ❄️ is 4 weeks old tomorrow and her new cria pal Buttercup “Smørblomst” is 4 days old tomorrow! They have become fast friends and these two girls are the first two cria born here at Our Little Kings Valley farm 💛 We just adore them!!

We are expecting one last cria out of Rambina (suri in the background) in a few weeks. We’ve been very blessed with an easy first cria season so far and hope the trend continues!

Allegra 🌼 is 345 days gestation today! Since it’s already 1pm, we don’t think today is cria day — cria are usually born between 6a-3p. We are excited to meet her little one soon! What day do you think she will unpack (birth) her cria?!

Allegra is a sweet girl who always comes right over when fresh water is being filled. Today she decided she her teeth could use a water flosser 🤪
