Ever wonder where the tea in our energy teas comes from that we serve here in Ossian?
Most people think it’s just natural caffeine in a cup.
The truth is, there’s a lot more to the story.
The tea used in our products, it starts in the mountains of Fujian Province, a region that has been growing tea for centuries. The green, black, and oolong teas are carefully harvested and tested before ever becoming part of a finished product.
One of the most interesting parts of the process is something called Botanical Identification.
Before the tea goes into the products, scientists verify that the ingredient is actually the correct tea plant. Using methods like DNA testing, microscopic analysis, and chemical fingerprinting, they confirm the identity, purity, and quality of the botanical ingredient before it enters production.
⁉️Why does this matter⁉️
Because not all supplement companies verify their ingredients at this level. Botanical identification helps ensure that what is listed on the label is actually what’s in the product.
After verification, the tea is extracted, tested for quality and purity, and then manufactured into the products that eventually make their way into your cup.
This process is called Seed to Feed because our ingredients are tracked from the farm all the way to the finished product.
