How the Brew Crew started on their journey…
Their Past
Patrick M., Andrew F., and Andrew S. College just so happens to be the place they found their appreciation for beer. Perhaps that appreciation has evolved over the years, but beer served a great purpose in their lives even if it was Bush Light (in red solo cups garnished with ping-pong balls). All three graduated from Valparaiso University i
n Indiana and are fraternity brothers. studied Mechanical Engineering where Patrick M. studied Public Relations. This turned out to be a great combination of backgrounds for brewing beer. often serves as a process engineer, Andrew F. is a master fabricator and Patrick M. knows craft beer, people, and all things networking. How The Brew Crew Formed
The three guys came to really REALLY appreciate beer. They expanded their pallets and started drinking more craft beer. Patrick M. started brewing on their own. invited Andrew S. in on a brew session and got him hooked. The three joined forces and their hobby grew. It started with small batches in the kitchen. Then it grew to back yard brewing in often freezing temperatures over a turkey burner and converted keg. Eventually, Andrew S. and his wife built a house in Oswego, IL where the basement was graciously handed over to the guys for their growing hobby. They now have 1300 sq ft of basement to do as they will. And they have! They started on a 15 gallon electric pot by an egress window to having a commercial sink, HLT, gas hook-ups, two 30 gallon Blickman boil and mash pots, a commercial vent hood, and more!
