KBW Vineyards

KBW Vineyards Planted in 1986, KBW Vineyards has a sweeping view or the Drumheller Channels Natural Landmark. Our Riesling is known for its unique fine qualities.

KBW Vineyards is located in the Columbia Valley AVA at an elevation of 1050 feet. We are about 10 miles west of Othello, located on the east end of the Royal Slope. The vineyard has a sweeping view of the Drumheller Channels Natural National Landmark to the east. The vineyard was planted in 1986. Before the vineyard was established, Walter Clore was consulted and said that Riesling would be the p

erfect grape for this site. The soil beneath KBW Vineyards is Neppel Loam. The vineyard is eastward facing on a two to five percent slope, with the rows running north and south. The rows are spaced 10 feet apart and the vines are planted on 6 foot spacing. We prune our vines to 8 spurs per side with 3 buds on each spur. The region that we are in averages 2720 growing degree days and our average rainfall is 8.25 inches. The entire vineyard is drip irrigated. The wine produced from our Riesling has aromas of white peach, nectarine and lychee.
