Employee of the week: Walnut

Walnut was one of the very first ducklings we ever hatched here on the farm—due to a very broody, very mean Cobra duck that insisted on having babies.

Walnut enjoys running around the pasture, looking for bugs and worms. Finding new, exciting places to lay her eggs and swimming in her pool.

Available July 4th, Fresh Oregon Grapes! 💙

These beautiful Pacific Northwest berries may be small, but they're packed with possibilities!

What can you do with Oregon grapes?
🍇 Make delicious jams and jellies (my favorite)
🥧 Add them to pies and syrups
🍷 Create homemade wine or juice
🫖 Brew into teas
🍯 Mix with sweeter berries for sauces or preserves

Their naturally tart flavor makes them perfect for recipes that need a bright, tangy kick.

Stop by the farm stand and grab a basket while they're in season! Fresh, local, and ready for your next homemade creation. 💙

Employee of the Week: Lambchop (aka Cotton) 🏆

Lambchop joined our farm completely by chance, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
After being rejected by her mother, she went without milk for the first 12 hours of her life. By the time she came home, she was weak, and her health quickly took a turn for the worse. There were plenty of sleepless nights, bottles, research, and more than a little worrying, but this tough little girl pulled through.

Now she's thriving! Most days you'll find her happily grazing, yelling at her best friend (and adopted dad) Gus, or plotting her next great pasture escape. If she's loose, just know she's probably up to no good—and loving every second of it.
We're so proud of how far our little menace has come. ❤️🐑

. Our onions are thriving this year! 🧅🌱
You might be wondering... "What's all the white stuff around them?"
That would be wool! Courtesy of our adopted sheep, Cotton—better known around here as Lambchop. 🐑❤️
Believe it or not, wool makes an excellent natural mulch. It helps suppress weeds, keeps moisture in the soil during those hot summer days, and as it slowly breaks down, it releases nitrogen back into the soil to help feed our plants.
Who knew a sheep could help grow onions?

Meet Borage

This companion plant attracts pollinators 🐝, deters pests, and improves soil health.
In my garden, this beauty is planted beside tomatoes, cucumber, and cabbage.

Employee of the Week: Paul

Logged record-breaking splash hours in the fresh water tub, ensuring 100% of the surrounding area was converted into a rich, functional mud pit within 3 minutes of a clean fill. Maintained a steady, highly enthusiastic dialogue with absolutely no one all Tuesday afternoon for 4 consecutive hours.

Employees of the week:

This week, the spotlight belongs entirely to the turkey crew for their unmatched group coordination and absolute dedication to the flock. Whether they are executing flawless synchronized foraging runs or maintaining security with a sharp 360-degree watch, their communication and teamwork have been top-tier. Their ability to stick together and lift the unit's overall morale makes them the undisputed choice for Team of the Week.

Bad Employee of the Week/Month: Ginger

While we appreciate high production metrics, this rogue operative spent the month repeatedly breaching corporate security fences to set up an illicit distribution network. Management spent half the week playing an unapproved game of Easter egg hunt to uncover a staggering cache of over 30 contraband eggs hidden across the front yard and deep into neighboring territory. Her security clearance is officially revoked until she learns to keep her assets on our side of the fence.
