Employee of the Week: Glacier 🧟‍♀️🐔

In the spirit of "Augtober," we're featuring another one of our resident zombie chickens!

Glacier has two favorite hobbies: taking luxurious dust baths and dramatically playing dead while soaking up the sunshine. More than once, she's convinced me she'd crossed the rainbow bridge to Chicken Heaven—only to pop up a few minutes later like nothing happened.

She's proof that Oscar-worthy performances don't just belong in Hollywood... sometimes they're found in the chicken yard! Congratulations, Glacier, on keeping your human on her toes (and giving her a mini heart attack) with every nap. 🩶😂

This is my first year planting Zinnias, its safe to say that I'm sold. I grew most of my plants from seed this year (Yes, huge flex. IYKYK) including these gorgeous things that I just can't get enough of.

Nasturtium

Not only are nasturtiums a beautiful addition to your garden, but the entire plant is edible! The leaves and flowers have a delicious peppery flavor with a little kick. 🌶️

They also make wonderful garden companions, attract pollinators, and can even be used as a trap crop to help protect your other plants. A pretty, tasty, and hardworking addition to any garden! 🐝🌱

What do you do with your nasturtium?

Employee of the Week: Bonkers! 💙🥚

This week’s Employee of the Week is our beautiful Bonkers, a proud Prairie Bluebell and one of our resident blue-egg suppliers! 💙

Bonkers spends her days strutting around the farm, looking fabulous, and supervising everyone else's work.
Her biggest contribution to the farm? Those gorgeous blue eggs she leaves behind for us! 💙🥚

We're not entirely sure if she's called Bonkers because of her personality or because she keeps us all a little crazy… but either way, we wouldn't trade our girl for anything!

Employee of the week: Aflac

Congratulations to this week's Employee of the Week, who bravely took on the impossible task of... supervising the sprinkler.
After an extensive inspection lasting approximately 37 minutes, she concluded that:

•The water pressure is acceptable.

•The grass could be wetter.

•The humans should probably install a duck-sized. splash pad immediately.

🐓 Employee of the Week: Roo 🐓

Please hold your applause... and hide your hens. This week's Employee of the Week is Roo!
Roo is one of our original Dino Egger hatchlings and a dashing Speckled Sussex × Copper Maran cross. He's living proof that sometimes the best employees are hired straight out of the egg.
He's recently found his voice and let me tell you, he really needs some practice to get that crow to 100%.

Employee of the week: Walnut

Walnut was one of the very first ducklings we ever hatched here on the farm—due to a very broody, very mean Cobra duck that insisted on having babies.

Walnut enjoys running around the pasture, looking for bugs and worms. Finding new, exciting places to lay her eggs and swimming in her pool.
