Winny just kindly shared the pics from the engagement. What I didn’t share with all of you was I was representing Geoff’s family and was quizzed by the village elders about our people, who I am, etc. they asked if the family has a symbol. I had to explain as a general rule, American families do not. Then we negotiated what Geoff was giving her family (which I’m not sure Winny is supposed to know so I won’t say here but you can message me and I’ll tell you). After these formalities were completed, I was welcomed into the family and now have an entire new family in Kenya, whom I adore!

I bought this pretty lavender braising pan at yesterday and couldn’t wait to take her for a spin. Made baked chicken parm meatballs from his marvelous new cookbook. I paired a glass of water with it 🤣

I’ve been so busy at my day job I didn’t get to share my joy at spending this past Friday evening with my darling and her wonderful daughter Ruby. We haven’t seen each other in 20 years but it was like we’d just seen each other yesterday. Those are the friends you keep 💕🍷

Staying with Lucy in the city this week - she’s having foot surgery on Wednesday and I can’t let her go through that alone. Lucy is a super taster and has auntie’s love of good w**e, so I brought my last bottle of Barolo. We decided it’s 5:00 somewhere!

I’ve been so busy I haven’t been home to grill. That ends tonight. I fired up my shiny new grill, got out my last bottle of Traveling Vineyard’s 5 String , hauled out the because I’m not pounding back that whole bottle by myself and am settling in to a ribeye slathered in truffle butter. Vegetables are involved but 🤷🏻‍♀️
