Tallow is great for…
• High-Heat Searing: Used to sear thick-cut steaks, chops, and burgers in a cast-iron skillet to build a deeply savory, flavorful crust.
• Frying & Deep-Frying: Ideal for french fries (such as the traditional Belgian or classic fast-food style), fish and chips, and crumbed schnitzels due to its clean frying and rich umami depth.
• Roasting Vegetables: Tossing potatoes, root vegetables, parsnips, or pumpkin in melted tallow results in an exceptionally crisp exterior and fluffy interior.
• Baking & Pastry: Used as a direct substitute for butter or lard to create flaky pie crusts, biscuits, tortillas, and Yorkshire puddings.
• Sautéing & Everyday Cooking: Used for frying eggs, cooking breakfast hash, making a savory roux, or adding a silky mouthfeel to stews, gravies, and hot pot broths.

Happy NATIONAL FARMERS DAY!!!
These guys don’t work a normal 9-5 day, they are at the farm before the sun is up and are still working after the sun goes down! Sometimes without a day off. If you see them on the road today! Give them a little nod or smile!

It’s days like these that we miss having AJ and Woodstock here!! AJ would be so proud of Reid and Woodstock would be so proud of his grandson’s!
