It’s almost time to close out the garden. I’m still attempting to grow some pumpkins and winter squash to sell on the stand, but pests have won the majority of those plants this year.
This is my third year in this garden and I still have no idea what Im doing. Hardly any eggplant grew, had to rip out my zucchini, not as many cucumbers this year and my tomatoes are small. Is it the rain? Heat? Sun? Soil? My pruning techniques? Who knows. But it’s still fun to see. No matter what, i always get something and it’s always exciting! I go out at least 3 times a day just to look/weed/feed the goats/water/or just sit. and I panic once fall and winter comes, what will occupy my time? I still don’t have an answer for Winter besides waiting for it to end so I can restart, have a new game plan, plant different things and try again. I have made many pickles, pesto, tomato soup, bread n butter pickles, and salsa all with garden items. It’s something I can’t perfect, which is hard for me, but I’ll be back next year!
