Just a little late spring update from Abbott Farms!
Baby plants are getting ready to transition from the greenhouse to the garden, baby chicks have moved to their coop, baby turkeys have hatched, and baby goats are growing up! May is always an exciting time here at the farm!

Here we are again imploring you to buy eggs from us! Our chickens have been loving the spring weather and are very enthusiastically laying eggs! We are getting so many eggs that each person in our family would need to eat 9 eggs a day to keep up with the amount we’re getting. Since we don’t want to have to transition to an egg-only diet, we’re asking you to help us out! 🙂

Our eggs are usually $4 a dozen, but currently we’re selling them for $3 a dozen, or 4 dozen for $10!

In other egg news, our chicks in the incubator survived a super close tornado and hatched on generator, and we now have 37 happy little chicks! We are very thankful to be safe and sound from the storms with no damage (and the power is back on now!)

April on the farm means lots of new life and color and beauty everywhere! This is the month where things really start coming alive, and even the ground starts breathing again. The baby goats are thriving, the eggs in the incubator are just about to hatch, and even our garden is just beginning with tiny little plants grown from seed in our basement. It’s always an exciting month as we look to the summer and enjoy the colorful beauty around us!
