Walter is giving CARLOS vibes this week.

Carlos is the naughty boy alter ego when he doesn't get his way.

Dad "kept him" from going to work with mom - he made eye contact while peeing on his brother.

His brother gloated about sleeping in bed so he jumped on up and wouldn't get down.

Mom said he needed a bath....

He talks back. He says naughty words. But if mommy lays down after blow dries he's still a "lap dog"

But soon....he's going to smoosh my insides.

With the colder weather Walter is supposed to come in at night. The impacts of canine dysautonomia he doesn't regulate his mucus production as well and is prone to pneumonia.

Typically he gets to come out once the sun goes down....but when Dad's store is open and the game is on it warrants afternoon snugs with mom. Dad doesn't need to know and isn't here to say no!

Yep...he still sleeps on his back.

Oh Walter...

Our best good boy will fight another day. Yesterday was a scheduled vet check for the advancement of his canine dysautonomia and changes with his UTI. The exact quote at the vet was "miracle dog!"

There will still be challenges but the vet deemed our boy clinically healthy and ready for a "normal puppy check" in 2 weeks. His life is different now but it's life and we are so grateful and thankful

Most expensive farm boy award goes to..............still Winston.

It's been a scary few weeks for Walter boy. What we thought was a UTI was diagnosed as canine dysautonomia - a degenerative disease with a 92% mortality rate. It's extremely rare but most common in Kansas and Missouri. We've slept on a small mattress outside with him for 10 days, we've helped him urinate at times, fed him a closely monitored diet 4 times a day, medications 4 times a day, Vaseline on the nose 4 times a day with qtips to clear the passages. It's been hard. Monday we took him to the vet for follow up and they expected we'd be there to euthanize but said this is a one-off case that they actually have hope. This morning you'd never know he's been so sick. He's helped with chores and run and jumped and barked like old puppy Walter. So today we are grateful for the progress we've made and still having his love in our family. We are thankful that God found a way to keep us home from vacation and that he has given us the gift of this gentle giant.

Not sure who the bigger pain in the b***y is between Winston running into a car or Walter coming down with this but man....we love our babies.
