Thank you to everyone who donated to Room 12 Worm Works!

My class will be absolutely thrilled when I tell them our project was funded in the morning. I’m so grateful that you’ve connected with the mission behind this project. Your generosity has the power to echo throughout their lifetimes.

Through this experience, my students will learn about physical science, economics, and our food systems but also so much more. They’ll practice teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, environmental responsibility, and entrepreneurial skills. Most importantly, they’ll see that their ideas matter and that with vision and hard work, they can make their dreams come true.

Who knows, maybe one day we’ll all be able to look back and say that, in some small way, we helped shape a future leader, innovator, or changemaker.

I’ve been off Facebook for a while and haven’t been keeping in touch much, so here’s an update: I’m teaching 3rd grade fulltime at a Title 1 school in Flint these days! My students are bright, determined, and full of big dreams, so we’re learning all about entrepreneurship
and how to turn vision into action.

🌸 **A New Season—In Every Sense** 🌸

As we enter a new season—both literally and metaphorically—we’ve made the heartfelt decision to scale back for the 2025 season. This shift reflects our deep desire to slow down and move more intentionally than we have in years past.

💛 The last six seasons have been nothing short of a dream—thanks to God, our family (especially my parents), friends, and of course all of you. Thank you. Thank you.

Subscribers, markets, grocery stores, weddings, funerals, baby showers, quinceañeras, Día de los Mu***os, Diwali, farm rentals, workshops, youcuts... wow. We’re still in awe.

Watching C**t toddle behind us those first few years, mesmerized by the land, the flowers, the machines, and this beautiful community that believed in me, in us, in him—it’s been one of the most beautiful parts of my life.

But last year, C**t’s world began to grow beyond our 28 acres. He has dreams of his own now. And we want to give those dreams the time and space they deserve.

🌷 Yes, we’re still growing flowers—but slower, smaller, and more intentionally, with carefully curated offerings.

C**t used his watermelon money to buy a dirtbike. Thank you to everyone who supported his venture. My husband and I appreciate everyone in this community who makes him feel capable and confident in all things. 🍉

The farm hosted the wedding of my longtime friend Derek and my newfound friend Kelsey. It was a beautiful wedding filled with lots of love. Shiloh, our horse, even received an invite - necktie and all. It was a meaningful grand finale to our 2024 season. Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Williams.

I made it all the way to nearly the very end of the season before getting sick. I thought I was getting better so I pushed through to the very end of the season before collapsing into my bed after market to sleep for 60 something hours. Frost or no frost I am done for the season.

I will still be accepting out of season family funeral work - starting next week when I am feeling better. Helping families create floral tributes that highlight their loved ones spirit and honor their memory feels like soul work to me.

I have decided to not accept any more out-of -season weddings or special events. I want to focus on C**t, finishing my degree, and preparing for the next chapter in this life.

Thank you all for another season of helping me support life, death, and my literal dream in between.

I'm excited to write a check to the Human Development Commission for 10% of this season's sales so that they can use it to fund support services for members of our community currently experiencing life's greatest transitions - birth and death.

The dahlias always hit it hard at the same time of the year that I begin to question my sanity as a farmer-florist. They give me the extra push needed to continue on until a frost.

We have the friendliest bees on the farm. I think they are really grateful I prioritize them over spraying for blemish free blooms. The praying mantis on the other hand…C**t learned the hard way that they bite.
