Where does someone who owns and operates an animal sanctuary go for vacation?

To another sanctuary, of course.

Because when your everyday life revolves around feed buckets, litter boxes, medications, “who escaped?”, and making sure every furry face has a full belly before you go to bed… somehow your idea of relaxing still includes animals.

This weekend, we’re getting a little time away from Kindred Tails… but let’s be honest, rescue people never really clock out. We just swap one set of animals we love for another.

And what an absolute gem my sister introduced us too Horse Tales Farm, Inc. A place built with heart, animals, and the kind of mission sanctuary people instantly understand.

What makes this even more special? They help support their sanctuary by offering two adorable tiny homes as Airbnb stays—which honestly is genius. So yes… you can relax, enjoy the peaceful farm atmosphere, and know your stay is helping support the animals they care for.

If you’re ever in North Carolina and want a unique getaway with purpose, this is absolutely a must-stay destination.

Because sometimes the best vacation isn’t escaping your life… it’s finding people living a life that feels just as meaningful as yours.
