Man oh man have we been busy this week!! Hay season started and Vacation Bible School prep is in full swing! I will be working throughout the week to restock some of our self stable products as well as maybe some new Tallow scents 👀

If you’re interested is joining us for Vacation Bible school it’s next week at First Christian Church in Eddyville!!

The baked goods are restocked and we did a little redecorating for the weekend!!

🐓 We have FREE EGGS!! There’s only a couple dozen in the stand I’ll be refilling through the weekend but these will only be WHILE SUPPLIES LAST! My chickens have been overdoing it a little bit lately and we’re not keeping up!

🐓 Memorial Day is not a holiday that we take lightly around here! My mom and I have a tradition every year on Memorial Day weekend to go around to all our loved ones graves and spend a few minutes with them. While it’s not the same as having them here it is still not a tradition I ever plan to skip and I hope to continue it with my children someday!!

I spend most of the week preparing for bake day while also working, choring, and working in the garden! It’s safe to say I love bake day but I’m very relieved when I get to sit down after a long Thursday!!

I thought I’d share a fun fact I learned today! While I’m doing my baking and packaging I sometimes like to watch informative videos about the history of homemaking and homesteading! Today I watched a video about “egg money”, this was a concept created around women in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s selling their extra eggs to general stores in exchange for goods or money!! Most women would use this extra money for luxury items that were not included in the families regular budget! The luxuries at the time were things like a roll of thread or a nice fabric for a new dress, some families even considered a bag of sugar as a luxury for special occasion treats!! This concept of “egg money” gave women a little independence and a way to contribute to the household!

Shortly after World War II “egg money” was a concept of the past, supermarkets were outsourcing eggs from large farms where they could buy in bulk for a smaller price than from local farmers.

I think it’s so cool to look back on these moments in history that our great great grandmothers more than likely participated in! I think it’s also so cool to see how everything circles back! More people are looking for local produce and eggs and I think it is so cool to be able to provide that to the public from our very own farm!!

I once again would like to thank everyone for all the support that I have received the past few weeks since opening!!

This week we’re adding Lavender Bath Salt!! If you’ve been out in the garden like me lately I’m sure your body is starting to feel it!! Who needs leg day when you can go pull weeds!

These will be out in the stand starting tomorrow (Wednesday 5/20), so come check it out!!

Lots of goodies in the stand today!! We have our pies restocked as well as bread, hamburger buns, cinnamon bread, puppy chow, and gooey chocolate chip cookies!!

We also added freeze dried fruit last week!! All our tallow products are restocked as well as our laundry detergent, simmer pots, bug spray, and egg noodles!

We have freeze dried apples and bananas!! These are some of my favorite grab and go snacks! They are also a big hit with the kiddos!!

These are in the stocked and ready for tomorrows stand! I will try to keep these in stock but they do take a good chunk of time to freeze dry!!

We are officially sold out of pie and sandwich bread until Friday when I restock the baked goods! Come see us!
