Thank you to everyone who entered into the drawing for the apple basket and farm goodies on behalf of our friend who is battling cancer!

I used the random wheel name picker and did a screen recording to show who was selected and Amber Hall is our winner! Congratulations Amber! I thought I was recording my voice while I was doing the screen recording but apparently I wasn’t LOL so if we ever do this again I will have to figure out how to do that.

Again congratulations and thank you so much to everyone who donated for our friend and a chance to win!

We’ve had lots of people asking about eggs lately, and we appreciate every one of you who wants to buy from our farm!

Unfortunately, our hens are going through their natural fall molt, which means egg production slows down significantly.
Molting is a completely natural process where hens lose their old feathers and grow new ones to prepare for the colder months ahead. Growing new feathers takes a LOT of protein and energy, so their bodies naturally take a break from laying eggs while they focus on renewing their feathers and getting ready for winter.

At our farm, we choose to let nature take its course. We don’t supplement artificial lighting to force our hens to keep laying through the shorter days and instead, we allow them to follow their natural seasonal rhythms, rest, regrow their feathers, and do what their bodies are designed to do.

This does mean fewer eggs in the egg basket for a little while, but we believe in raising our animals in a way that respects their natural rhythm and cycles of life.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and for choosing to buy local! Our girls will be back to filling those egg cartons when they’re ready. In the meantime, enjoy this picture of our hen who is ready for her new feathers to grow back in! She says it’s cold without these fluffy feathers!

This is the last call to put in for a chance to win the goodie basket of apples, honey, jams, jellies, apple butter, and more to help raise funds for our friend who is battling colon cancer!

So far those who have put in have raised $180! We would love to break $200 by filling some more spots before drawing the winner tomorrow!

Please send funds to the posted Venmo to secure your spot. We are limiting to 50 spots with a goal of raising $1,000 which will all go to our friend!

We will also be accepting $20 payments for our dear friend fighting cancer and will be doing the random drawing with all entries this Sunday October 5 for basket pickup at the winners earliest convenience next week!

One of our dear friends is going through a very difficult season as she battles cancer, and we want to do what we can to help ease some of the financial burden for her family.

So we’re putting together a BIG basket of farm favorites and opening up 50 spots at $20 each!

100% of the proceeds will go directly to help our friend with expenses during her cancer journey.

The basket will be filled with goodies from our farm, including a bushel of fresh apples and other farm favorites — and we may have a few surprises added along the way! Honey, jams, jellies, fresh produce, eggs, flower bunches, apple butter, to name a few!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the orchard today, supported our farm, and took home some of our apples! We are so grateful for every customer, every kind word, and every family who continues to support Hooples Orchard from year to year and through the generations!

We’ll be OPEN ONE MORE DAY — Saturday, October 3!

This will be our last day of the season, so if you’ve been wanting to stop by, next Saturday is your final chance to grab some tree-ripened, hand-sorted apples for the year!

We’d love to see you one more time before we close out the 2026 apple season. We will have plenty of apples available and appreciate everyone who chooses us for their fresh fruit!

We’ll be open this Saturday, September 19th with multiple apple varieties ready for you and your family to enjoy!

Our apples are tree-ripened and picked when they’re ready — not picked green and forced to ripen. And every apple is hand-sorted by us, so every bag you take home has been individually looked over by our family. Thank you for choosing our farm as your local supplier of fresh fruits!

Our first September CSA basket of the month went out this past Saturday and it was full of delicious produce and treats!

Just a quick clarification about our CSA! Our CSA members purchase their farm shares up front, which helps us cover the costs of planting, growing, and producing throughout the season. Their apples are part of that pre-purchased share, which is why they may receive them before our orchard opens for the full season.
We’re so thankful for ALL of our customers and the many ways you support our family farm! If you’d like to sign up for our 2027 CSA share please let us know. 🙂

We do plan to be open this Saturday September 19 with a great selection of apple varieties available for everyone!
