Trustworthy bulls should be the normal, NOT the anomaly!
Read that again.
The age old saying is "never turn your back on a bull," but that should not be true! Docility is the number one culling factor all of our bulls go through.
"But if a bull is tame, won't he just run you over when he's bigger?" Not if you teach him boundaries! You should be in charge, all of the time, period!
Any herd bull prospects that go through our program are halter broke as youngsters. This provides us with the perfect opportunity to create this bond with them, and cull out anything that doesn't make the cut. We trust all of our bulls 100%, no exceptions.
Life is too short to have crazy bulls.
Pictured is our 7 year old herd bull, BK Still Trending 710. He was halter broke as a weanling/yearling and hasn't hardly seen one since. Tonight we threw a halter on him because why not, and to no surprise he was as respectful as they come.
As further proof, our 3 year old bull picked a fight with him a couple weeks ago because they had been wintered separately, and I was able to walk between them and break up the fight. Call me crazy for walking between fighting bulls, or call me smart for teaching them to respect people. Take your pick, but in my opinion it will always be the latter.
