Sad morning here at the farm. A young coyote ate a rodent that had been poisoned. The little dude suffered the same fate. Animal control showed up and put him out of his suffering. I know we all hate the little rodents that eat our gardens or landscaping. It doesn’t offset this little dude dying.

Join us for our produce sale tomorrow, 9am-noon! We will be selling peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, beets, carrots, onions, garlic and more! For baked goods we will have herb focaccia bread for $10, pumpkin loaves for $6, blueberry muffins for $4 and chef Steve turned our tomatoes into a delicious tomato soup! $12 for a quart.

8200 w. 71st street in OP. Drive all the way behind the CAA building, we are on the north end.

Produce sale tomorrow! HOURS CHANGE for the sale. With the heat, we are moving up an hour and selling from 8am-11am.

We will not have any of our prepared goods like bread, cupcakes and soups. We will have tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, beets, carrots, onions, garlic, shallots and potatoes for you to pick from.

No sale this week because my staff are all headed to senior year or college! We should be back at it next Saturday the 15th. What did we do with the 220 # of tomatoes that wouldn’t make it to next week? Cored, gleaned and then roasted, ended up with around 190 # of product. Next up we will peel the skins and make tomato sauce!

The tomatoes that were past and the cores we put in our fancy new(to us) composter! Perfect for the kitchen staff and students to compost without needing to haul it out to the farm.

We are open for business! Produce and baked goods galore! We have focaccia bread, pumpkin loaves, salsa, blackberry jelly, pesto, AND a new batch of Andouille sausage and three onion chowder!

Produce includes onions, leeks, tomatoes for days, peppers, garlic, shallots, beets, carrots, potatoes and dried herbs.

Produce Sale tomorrow, July 18th, 9-12. What will we have? Tomatoes, tomatoes and more tomatoes, lettuce, red, white and yellow onions, shallots, garlic, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, potatoes and plenty more I'm forgetting at the moment. From the kitchen, we have 12 full loaves and 6 half loaves of focaccia bread. Izzy and Caitlynn also made carrot cake cupcakes, salsa and some cilantro chimichurri. I made another batch of potato & Leek soup as well as the cauliflower and cheddar cheese soup.

Produce and baked goods for sale tomorrow at the Broadmoor Urban Farm! We will be here 9am-noon Saturday July 11th. What do we have for you? From our bake shop, our team made focaccia bread (10 full loaves, 6 half loaves) and carrot cake cupcakes. From the kitchen, we have potato & leek soup, genovese pesto with roasted garlic as well as 65 containers of blackberry vanilla jelly and apple butter. I also just whipped up a batch of romanescu cauliflower and cheddar cheese soup and it is delicious!

For produce, we have 8 varieties of potatoes, beets, cherry tomatoes as well as the start of our slicer, paste and heirloom tomatoes. We have red, yellow and white onions, shallots, garlic, leeks, beets and cucumbers. There are probably a few other items I missed, but you won't be disappointed, unless you come late looking for focaccia bread!

It's not every day your country turns two-fiddy. We are taking this Saturday off for everyone to celebrate the 4th. We will have a produce sale NEXT SATURDAY, JULY 11th. Today we turned 21 pounds of blackberries into blackberry jelly! We will have focaccia bread, we made MORE apple butter, and with 650 pounds of potatoes and leeks out the w***o, why not make more potato & leek soup! See you then!
