Delilah update: We really fought hard for so long with this sweet girl and for so many weeks did not think she would make it and I am happy to say although she lost weight&/or didn’t gain for so very long of a time she if finally gaining weight at an average amount for a calf!! When we bought her she was at 10 days old she was 88lbs, when I weighed her 2 weeks ago at 2 months old she was 110lbs and we were so excited. Today she weighed in at 133lbs. Average weight gain for a calf her age is 10lbs per week, our sweet girl is finally average! Woohoo!!!!! Now if she can just get some fat on her we will be ecstatic.

Autumn’s babies Ferb & Maple are growing up quick! They are 5 weeks old. On October 13th Ferb will be 8 weeks old and ready for his forever home. If you are looking for a cute little black and white buckling with blue eyes let me know and we can schedule a day for you to meet him. Maple will be staying on the farm and growing up to be part of our breeding herd.

Delilah Update: She has been 100% an outdoor cow for 2 weeks now and is bratty and sassy. She has still never been able to drink 100% milk replacer without getting an upset tummy but does wonderfully on a 50/50 mix of milk replacer and electrolytes and grazes in the pasture all day. Although we still try to transition her to 75/25 about once a week because ideally she would get her proper nutritional amount but we are happy to see her doing so well and will continue to do whatever we can to keep her happy and healthy.
