After many wonderful years of growing with you, Bushel Boy Farms is no longer operating our greenhouses in Minnesota and Iowa.

While this chapter of our journey is coming to an end, we will be forever grateful to the employees and customers whose passion for premium, locally-grown produce made it possible. We are deeply proud to have been a part of every meal you made with something we grew.

From all of us, thank you for being part of the Bushel Boy story.

It’s our responsibility to reduce waste as a sustainable food company, which is why we started composting materials beginning in 2023.​

Our first priority is to support our communities through donations to regional food banks, including Second Harvest Heartland and Channel One Regional Food Bank. We donated more than 300 tons of produce in 2023.​

We also send our leaves and tomatoes waste to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s (SMSC) Organic Recycling Facility to be processed as compost. We’re proud to report that we composted more than 225 tons of material last year.

We're currently researching additional ways to divert other materials away from landfills, including redesigning the support clips used in our growing process to be made from compostable materials, connecting with local farmers for more composting opportunities, increasing recycling rates and exploring technologies that will help manage more compostable materials at our growing locations.

We’re incredibly proud to see our very own Chuck Tryon featured on WCCO & CBS News Minnesota! Alongside WCCO anchors Jeff Wagner WCCO and Erin Hassanzadeh, Chuck shared about this year’s new Minnesota State Fair “Fresh Salsa Recipe Rally” contest sponsored by Bushel Boy in the Creative Activities Building.
