Garlic is out of the ground and hanging to cure for 2 to 4 weeks. Six to eight bulbs are tied together and hung from the rafters in a shed. Once it is dry, we will save the biggest bulbs to plant this fall and the rest is donated.

A couple of weeks ago, we welcomed some older hens the owner could no longer care for. This week, a family ordered day old chicks from a hatchery and received a double order, which was more than they could handle. So, our flock grows again.

It is always fun when something new happens at the farm. We found two new kittens in the corner of the chicken coop today to add to our colony of farm cats.

Beet harvest today. The beetroots are donated while the leaves are fed to the chickens and pigs.
