Last weekend's warm temperatures made for a strong finish with the peppers for the season. The threat of freezing temps tonight forced the last harvest though. The fingerling eggplants are still throwing out new blossoms. The squirrels found where we were drying the sunflowers.

Our biggest donation day yet! Today we brought in 125 bottles of honey, 13 crates of potatoes and 4 crates of squash for a total of 1080 pounds.
We're grateful to be able to provide fresh vegetables and honey to Community Pathways. We couldn't do it without the help from volunteers and our supportive community!

A crew from Federated was helping harvest potatoes, squash, and pumpkins today. We got a lot of work done this afternoon, thanks to Federated Insurance allowing employees time off to volunteer. Many hands make light work. The potatoes alone weighed in at 820 pounds. Community Pathways will be receiving a large donation this week.

Garlic harvest is complete for the three varieties we grew this year. After they were dried from hanging for a few weeks, they were trimmed. The best 300 cloves will be saved to plant this fall for next year's crop. The rest will be donated.

Garlic is out of the ground and hanging to cure for 2 to 4 weeks. Six to eight bulbs are tied together and hung from the rafters in a shed. Once it is dry, we will save the biggest bulbs to plant this fall and the rest is donated.
