The potato rows are w**d free after seconding hilling, which is a manual effort since they are too tall for the tractor. Some of them are starting to blossom. And the first strawberry makes an appearance.

We finished planting this week. Thank you to Turtle Creek Nursery & Landscaping and Souba Greenhouse for partnering with us to provide starter plants. We transplanted over 600 veggies plus put hundreds of seeds in the ground.

New on the farm: potatoes are planted and the first ones are up.
Five little pigs arrived this past weekend.
The bees are collecting pollen (you are aware if you have allergies).
Starter plants are ready and waiting for warmer temps outside.

It is the start of a new season at It's All Good Farms. We placed four bee colonies today while the chickens were out free ranging. Garlic was planted last fall and has emerged through the straw mulch.

The bees appreciate the warm weather. They are taking "cleansing flights" to clean the hive and defecate. We put black tar paper around the hives in the winter to help warm the hive. We have one hive survive the winter so far.

Our second season has been completed. We expanded from last year and were able to more than triple our fresh produce donation to 2,624 pounds and 100 bottles of honey to Community Pathways. New additions this year included radish, eggplant, garlic scapes and bulbs, lemon cucumbers and popcorn.

Special thanks to Turtle Creek Nursery & Landscaping and Souba Greenhouse for donating starter plants and seed, our volunteers for their manual labor, and our financial supporters. Generous hearts and helping hands are what makes the Owatonna community exceptional, and we are grateful.
If you like what we are doing here and want to help support us, we are a 501c3, so any donations are tax deductible. Venmo or message us how to send a check.

We are proud to support Community Pathways with our donations. Please consider supporting them directly.

Cheers, It's All Good!

We had some great help today. Nineteen junior high students from St. Mary's School came out to help as a service project. They ground corn for feed, shucked popcorn, cleaned a chicken coop, wood chipped garden paths, cleaned out a shed and cleaned up trees that fell this summer.

The garden season is winding down, although the warm temperatures seemed to have extended the season. We harvested potatoes and winter squash last week. After sharing with neighbors and friends, we were still able to donate 744 pounds to Community Pathways
