🧀 Happy Cheesy Friday! 🧀

Today we’re talking about the highly anticipated Wild Turkey Austin Nichols Archive Gold Foil Edition 16 Year — a tribute to the legendary “Cheesy Gold Foil” bottlings from the 1980s and 1990s.

On the nose, it brings back that classic Wild Turkey funk that fans of the older releases know and love. The palate leans heavily into rich Cherry Cola notes, while the oily finish drinks exceptionally well for a 120-proof bourbon and absolutely hits the sweet spot.

The presentation? Outstanding. Easily one of the best-looking Wild Turkey releases in recent years. The tube has some serious girth… let’s just say it’s double-fistable, and we’ll leave it at that. 😂

Now the big question: Does it truly stack up against the iconic Cheesy Gold Foils of old? That’s up for debate, and bourbon enthusiasts will probably be arguing about that one for years.

Our beloved grandfather made his way to heaven on Saturday, May 23rd.

He was my mentor, my guru, my godfather, and the hardest working man I have ever known. He worked endless hours to help build the empire and foundation our family stands on today. His impact on our lives, our community, and his businesses can never be replaced.

He will be truly missed by his friends, family, and the many loyal customers who have known and loved him throughout the years.

Barrel Heads will be closed tomorrow as we honor his life and attend his funeral service.

We ask that you please keep our family in your prayers during this difficult time. ❤️
