Happy Friday!! ☀️

We are ecstatic that all four drinking posts are installed and operational in the pastures! We have 2 in our south pasture and 2 in our north pasture. Huge thanks to Hower Excavating & Trucking for tackling installation! 🪏

It has only been about 24 hours and as you can see the cows are already figuring the post mechanism out! 🤩

We are excited to have these in the pastures so the cows always have access to fresh, clean water day in and day out no matter the temperature. If you’re thinking about installing waterers for your livestock here’s just a few reasons to consider a drinking post ⤵️⤵️

❗️No frozen water in the winter
❗️No algae growth in the summer
❗️No dirty, stagnate water
❗️No heaters or electricity
❗️No hauling buckets or hoses
❗️No cleaning or maintenance

Give Jason over at Double H Farms a message to get any questions you might have answered and secure your order today! 📲

Here’s to finding a new use for water hoses here at the farm! 😆 and happy, healthy cows as always! 🐮

Our waterline project is officially underway and it is a big one!

We’re super excited to finally have 24/7 water access in our pastures for the cows and even drinkers in the barn for winter and beyond!!

This means (ideally) no breaking ice out of tanks this winter and minimal garden hose use to reduce chore time!!

What will we do with all our extra time not filling tanks or breaking ice?? We’ve already got a list of projects to keep busy… stay tuned😉

Thanks again Hower Excavating & Trucking for tackling this installation and Double H Farms for the drinking posts!!!

Bulk lamb now available for pre-order! We have a limited quantity, so make sure to reserve yours soon!

This will be our only run of lamb for the fall, with another small opportunity to buy in bulk mid-winter. Other than this pre-order, we will have a limited amount of lamb for sale by the pound in our market while supplies last starting in October!

Welcome to Double H Farms! 🐮🌾

We’re Jason & Sheila Hower. Double H Farms was established in 2016 from a simple dream to own a little acreage, raise our kids in the country like we were raised, build our dream barn, and have our horses and cattle right outside our back door.

Over the years, that dream has slowly become our everyday life. We’re raising our family alongside a collection of horses, cattle, dogs, chickens and whatever else seems to find its way home with us. ❤️

We have an especially soft spot for Hereford cattle and their beautiful, docile personalities, and we’re working toward growing our own registered Hereford herd.

We created this page simply to share a little piece of life at Double H raising kids, raising animals, working the land, making memories and enjoying the rural lifestyle we dreamed about long before we built it.

Happy September! 🧡

We started the month off by getting hammered with rain (about 4inches so far!), that we could’ve used back in July, but some of our later planted beans and the pastures are enjoying it for sure! ⛈️

Before all of the crazy rain we received, we were able to get part of a hay field dry and baled up (need to return hopefully soon to finish the rest) and a new field that we picked up planted to hay! 🍀

It is in weekend plans to get the combine out to start going through it for harvest, which will be here before we know it! Some of our early planted 30inch row beans are starting to turn already! 💛🫛

Lastly, as if harvest prep isn’t busy enough, our waterline project should be starting soon so stay tuned for that!! Until then, we are enjoying the little bit of free time we get to accomplish small projects around the farm.

Have a happy, safe, and relaxing Labor Day weekend!! 💙🇺🇸
