Brown Family Farmstead

Brown Family Farmstead A first generation farm in MI growing specialty cut-flowers. While also operating Our flower farm is small but mighty.

We're first generation flower farmers learning as we grow (literally). In 2015 we started planning out our 5 year goals and they all revolved around us having a little farm. After a couple years of searching, while also growing our family, we landed on our dream spot between Owosso and Perry. We're so grateful to be here having a community to be a part of with our little family. Josephine is an al

umni of the Floret Flower Workshop Class and has learned how to get the maximum growth out of a small plot. She focuses on growing specialty cut blooms like dahlias, one-of-a-kind zinnias and peonies, among others! In addition growing flowers, we have a vintage flower truck we sell our locally grown blooms on. The flower truck is original to Owosso, and the mid-west - featuring only Michigan grown flowers as specialty designed bouquets & build your own bouquets. Besides the flowers, our other big plans always revolved around pizza. Brian has been making wood-fire pizza for the last several years and we knew it was something we wanted to include with our farm. In 2021 we finally took the plunge to restore an old trailer to serve as our official pizza truck!

We are usually the ones to be going with the flow and very much doing what feels right when it comes to any new opportunity or situation. We’ll figure it out along the way and if it’s something we want to do or try, we’ll find a way. Not big on advanced planning but pretty big on doing what inspires you the most. Mental peace and gratitude are a required element in our family and I’d like to think we have a good foundation for it all.

Then you get hit with an unexpected health scare or something that makes you say “wish it didn’t take something like this to make you slow down and reset” - or take better care of yourself. We had a pretty challenging start to this season of life / farm / work. Going with the flow and resetting our expectations requires a little more patience during all of our days right now. 〰️So here we are〰️

Diagnosis and health challenges in different forms seem to be happen to more and more people in this little corner of ig/the internet. Physical health challenges or not, I guess if you’re also struggling with healing and keeping up - keep hanging in there with the rest of us. And always push yourself for some barefoot in the grass fresh air time (grounding and all that s**t)
