Well you can't win em all. These chocolate chip bagels were doomed from the start when the first batch of chocolate chips melted entirely into the dough. The logical solution to this would be.... add more chocolate chips. Said additional chocolate chips promptly.... melted entirely into the dough.
And yet we persevered. We rolled 75 bagel balls, the entire time saying "huh, this dough is really weird" over and over. We boiled em, we baked em. We said "well these are really ugly." We determined we would have a super cheap ugly bagel sale because surely with the sheer quantity of chocolate in the dough, they had to be delicious.
We took a bite and they were... really, really bad. I am not being humble. They tasted bad. Not like "I could smother this in cream cheese and it would be tolerable" bad. Bad bad.
So these bagels go to the trash. Thank goodness for Kelsey Chow because old Mary would have angrily thrown them out the window (literally). I guess 37 means you finally learned some grace. Ah well, life goes on.
GOOD everything bagels are available at Brown's Family Farm Market, Weathertree Farm, and Village Perks (none in the camper). They're all also stocked up with loaves along with Hilltop Family Farm.
