Well it's been quite a ride and I've enjoyed every minute of it, but it's time to make some major changes in our life again. We're looking for buyers for all of our fiber animals and will no longer be doing fiber in the mill. We are looking for a buyer for the farm and very soon we will be moving to Florida. Sun City here we come! If you know anyone who would love some of our fabulous fur babies please send them this way. I've made some wonderful friends and will certainly miss being involved in your lives and the fiber industry. Hoping to keep in contact with many of you and I expect to be seeing you again sometime. Until then remember me fondly and I'll certainly be doing the same.

Well,we're still haying. But getting close to the finish. Today I let some of my animals out behind my house to help me clean up the weeds. They had a blast. Below is a buck Angora, Hercules. He apparently is hoping his camouflage will let him stay out to get more.

About a month ago we added a beautiful "brand" of Angora goats to the farm. Three of them hadn't been sheared of their spring fiber so a friend demonstrated how the shearing needed to be done and lent me her clippers. What fun it was! It took me about an hour for each one so it was done on three separate days. Most of the fiber was matted but I did manage to save a little to play with. Time to experiment on dying with mohair and blending it with my wool.

We ended up getting in a nice batch of hay on Friday. So glad because we had used all the hay we put up from last year. I had a fun time today. We got seven Angora goat last month and three of them hadn't been sheared. So, thanks to a friend lending me her clippers, I sheared one of my goats. First time I managed to actually shear an animal. A friend and I had tried to do a sheep once, but that didn't end up going too well. I think we could have won on Americas funniest videos. Today after some really great instructions, I did a pretty good job. It was great fun.

Added some beautiful new Jacob today. Their fleece is incredibly soft. Three wethers.
