Thank God for giving me country kids.

Kids with little boots by the door,
caked in yesterday’s mud and today’s chores.
Boots too big, laces half tied,
walking through life with a quiet kind of responsibility.

Thank God for scraped knees that didn't stop the play, just got wiped on jeans and carried on.
Knees that learned early the ground isn't always soft, but you get back up anyway.

Thank God for the dirt in their hands, under their nails, worked into their palms like proof of a life well lived. Hands that know feed buckets and egg baskets, warm animal breath and gentle patience.

Thank God for their tough little spirit and their gentle little soul. Both living in the same small body.
Loud laughter. Brave hearts. Soft hugs that still smell like hay and sunshine.

Thank God they have watched life be given before they ever had words for the miracle.
Wobbly legs. First breaths. Tiny lives held with reverence and awe. They learned early that life is sacred because it is fragile.

Thank God they have held animals as they said goodbye. Quiet tears. Soft hands. Learning that love sometimes looks like staying until the very end.

Thank God chores are just part of their life. Not punishment. Not something to escape. Just what you do when living things depend on you. They're learning responsibility, consistency, and pride
without even realizing it.

Thank God for giving me country kids. Kids with dirt on their clothes, love in their voices, and hearts rooted deep.

And when the world feels heavy one day, they'll stand steady and strong, because this life-and this love-taught them how.
