Puffballs foraged, cooked, flattened, and frozen for next years 2 week local food challenge. The plan is to make a lasagna with these as a substitute noodle. Our kids, who eat anything, don’t really like them- but I know they will when it’s that or the liver at the bottom of the freezer :-) (And in puffballs defense, I find them delightful)

Heirloom tomatoes, eggs, and more. Only a little cheese left this weekend (a cheddar). Ice cream still available. We will cut some more cheeses soon, stay tuned.

Dragonflies out over the prarie-pasture at sunset- they are hunting down insects (mosquitos!) and generally just being glorious. The Maximilian sunflowers are about ready to show off too, maybe one more week … they are edible but non-preferred by our lady S’mores. 🐄

About half of my very nice onion harvest this year after curing and trimming. several varieties, including Sterling (white), Patterson (good yellow keeper), Yellow Spanish, Red Zeppelin, Redwing, Candy and Blush. Blush is an unusual pale pink onion, tasty and last year one of my longest storage onions without sprouting in the cool room (6 months plus). All of these are available in our Farm Garden Shed

And our award-winning Alpine is almost sold out - just one left from this batch. Luckily we have more aging in the cave.
