Okay, I was going through videos on my phone to delete and free up some storage. I’m always out of storage! Anyway, came across this video that I sent to my besties after a Goodwill haul 😂 Kennedy said not to post it “because it’s cringey”… so of course I’m posting it.
Who else gets this excited about their thrift store scores?!? Also, the word I’m searching for in this video was a trivet, not “pot holder coasters”😂🤦🏻‍♀️☠️ anyway, hope you get a kick out of this at my expense🤷🏻‍♀️

Because it has rained so much lately, everything is muddy. This makes for muddy eggs. I have had to wash a lot of eggs, and unfortunately I don’t have room to refrigerate and store all of them. Therefore, I’m having an egg SALE on all washed eggs while they last!

Okay, sorry for the double post today, but I can’t help it. I cooked our first chicken in the instant pot today and made chicken and dumplings. Thankfully I had left over dough the other night when I made noodles so I cut them into dumplings and had thrown them in the freezer. Maybe the best chicken and dumplings I’ve ever made. I was also able vacuum seal and freeze half of the shredded chicken, and can two jars of broth. We also had cobbler from the strawberries and raspberries we picked yesterday ☺️

Here’s what we’ve been up to- Processing chickens for the freezer, finishing up planting the garden after the rain put a long pause on that process, picking strawberries- planting strawberry plants, building on to our deck, opening the pool, a horse show, lots of weeding, and planting planters for the bare space surrounding the pool. We’ve had a busy start to summer ☀️ 🪏 🍗 🪴

Some update pics of our new addition🥰 2 days old and still no name. Keep the suggestions coming! I mostly like Panda, but I also wanted something that correlates with Payton’s graduation🤔

So, we’ve been pretty busy lately with senior year celebrations and end-of-the-school-year events, so I haven’t posted in a bit, but I have something HUGE to share!

Wednesday evening, Payton and I were out taking some last-minute cap and gown photos with Mason and Liv and didn’t get home until around 8:00. After chores in the barn, we finally headed inside. I was just about to start dinner (around 9:00!) when David called and said that one of our heifers, who was due to calve, was acting odd in the pasture and he thought it was time!

We got her into the barn where we had better light, and it quickly became clear that she was indeed in the early stages of labor. Long story short, I pulled an all-nighter, David pulled a most of the nighter 😉, we faced a few complications, and said a whole lot of prayers. Thankfully, everything turned out just fine because at 4:50 a.m., David and I pulled the cutest little baldy heifer into the world!

Momma and baby are both doing great, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her. Help us welcome this sweet girl, born in the early morning hours of Payton’s graduation day!
No sleep was had, but it ended up being one of the best 24 hours we could have asked for.

Now the big question...what should we name her?

Just a couple of photos I’ve taken this week. Planting photos are always some of my favorites🥰

This type of meat (and I use that term loosely) is exactly why we decided to offer à la carte ground beef to the community. I could not agree more with this guy. When I go to the grocery and see that a pound of subpar ground beef is $8+ per pound, it makes me wonder why any farm stand has a single pound of ground beef left in their freezers. Please quit feeding your family this “ground beef” 🙏🏼
