Life has been busy around here, and we wanted to share a little update with everyone who has supported us over the years. ❤️

We know some of you have noticed we've been a little quieter than usual, and there's a reason for that.

First, we're still here...and we're not going anywhere!

We're pouring our hearts into planning the FarmHouse Fair, growing Ladies Skill Sharing, and dreaming big for the future. One of our biggest goals is building our forever home on our land and creating the homestead we've envisioned for years. Right now, that means taking a step back, getting organized, simplifying, and preparing for what's ahead.

Because of that, we've decided to take a break from hatching chicks and poults for the time being. This isn't goodbye, it's just a pause while we focus on building a stronger foundation for our family and our future.

Our passion for agriculture, homesteading, and bringing our community together hasn't changed one bit. If anything, it's grown even stronger. You'll still see us hosting the FarmHouse Fair, Rachel will continue leading Ladies Skill Sharing, and we'll keep finding ways to educate, encourage, and connect with this incredible community we love so much.

Thank you for supporting Dusty Goat Homestead through every season. Sometimes growth looks like adding more...and sometimes it looks like taking a step back so you can build something even better.

We're excited for this next chapter, and we can't wait to share the journey with all of you. ❤

A lot of people say they want a homestead life, but what they really want is the idea of it.

They picture fresh eggs, cute animals, and peaceful mornings. What they don’t always picture are the early wake-ups, the mess, the hard decisions, or the days when everything feels like it’s working against you.

Because real homesteading isn’t just a lifestyle, it’s a commitment.
It’s learning as you go, failing and trying again, figuring out how to make do with what you have. It’s feeding animals before yourself some days and showing up even when you’re tired.

But it’s also something else.

It’s pride in what you’re building. It’s knowing where your food comes from. It’s raising your family with intention and creating a life that’s yours. Not perfect. Not easy. But real.

So we are curious, what’s something about homesteading that surprised you once you started?
