Maye Family Sheep Farms We strive to grow and sell high quality Katahdin sheep. We have commercial & registered ewes 4 sale. We have about 40 commercial and registered ewes combined.

Our flock goals are aimed toward parasite resistance, good mothering and ewes weaning multiples. We live in the deep humid south where parasites thrive so one of our most important flock goals is for parasite resistance.We send animals that are parasite vulnerable to the meat market and continually invest in registered stock that's in the highest percentage of parasite resistance based on the NSIP

. We believe that every sheep must earn its keep, take care of their lambs with little to no assistance from the shepherd and have twins or triplets to ultimately pay its way. That's why we cull ewes that cause more work and continually have singles. In a nutshell, we raise sheep that are hardy to the environment, are self reliant and are highly productive to bring in revenue.
