Heya friends and family! We're still kinda stranded on our hill side after the hurricane. We have been hiking it to get supplies, and a few gracious folks have been able to get their lifted 4wheel trucks up (damaging their vehicles in the process), but we can't get our vehicle down to the highway. We've been clearing by hand, and doing what we can to make it driveable, but its going to take a while, and it's difficult to work our regular gigs while our vehicle is stuck. Every little bit is a huge help 💚

We use off-grid electricity, but our neighbors and stores don't. They're estimating power in this area won't be restored until Sept 8 - which shows just how hard we got hit by Lala, because those crews are working so so hard out there and it's still that far out.

We're okay! Hurricane Lala took out a storage carport and some big branches that fell on our fence, but all people and animals are okay. Our easement road got wiped again, worse than ever. First 4 pictures are where our road became a river. Gonna be clearing out boulders and debris for a while before anyone can get in or out, but we've got supplies.
Even after we can get down to the highway, both directions got hit hard and Hwy 11 is trashed in both Na'alehu to the southwest and Pahala to the northeast. Sending love and hope to all our neighbors!

Hurricane Lala is on its way through, and the Twin Turtle Homestead fam are safely hunkered down in the bus. Some branches coming down, more flooding on the road, and lots of wind.

Pele is rockin' today!
Episode 49 of the ongoing Halema'uma'u eruption at Kīlauea is 500+ ft in the air - and we can see it from this viewpoint about 30 miles away!!

Everyone here's okay! Rockin' 6.0 earthquake last night shook super hard, caused damage in neighboring areas - but everything good here. Epicenter was at our favorite snorkel spot, about 50 miles away.

The earthquake was felt statewide as far away as Hanalei, Kauai.
