This wasn’t the harvest date we had circled.
The extreme heat pushed the reds hard and fast. So when the fruit told us it was ready, we picked it.
Now it’s straight through the destemmer and into the fermenters—skins, juice, seeds, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with making red wine.
No waiting for a calendar. Luckily milder weather is upon us.
The vineyard spoke and we had to capture its essence the best way we know how, eventually filling your glass to the brim with terroir.

For a small Colorado winery, this is an incredible honor. None of it happens without this team — the people in the vineyard, in the cellar, in the tasting room and behind the scenes making it all come together. With a huge shout out to @hannahnell for putting in so much work on this accoladed wine!
Here’s to the crew who made it happen. 🍷👏

Muhammara. Spiced chicken. Sesame, soy-glazed bok choy. Lemon-bright Brussels. And naan rolled out with a wine bottle because this is a resourceful kitchen.
Grüner Veltliner understood the assignment. With it’a crisp acid and hint of white pepper, Grüner is the match made in heaven for anything spicy, zesty, herby, or umami packed.
