A Pinch of Lavender

A Pinch of Lavender Specializing in culinary lavender, l. Angustifolia, grown uniquely in food-grade barrels, small commercial farm. Lavender sugar, various lavender spice blends. L.

Varieties consist of Betty's Blue, Royal Velvet, Buena Vista, Melissa, Folgate, Imperial Gem. Our Lavender is True or Common Lavender, botanical name of Lavandula angustifolia. It may also be referred to as English Lavender. angustifolia, True Lavender, is preferred by aroma and massage therapists. High-end perfumes and oils use True Lavender and the professional chefs and bakers in high-end resta

urants use it in their specialty creations. The culinary use of True Lavender is resurging in popularity, from baking dishes to beverages and rubs for grilling. A Pinch of Lavender has chosen six varieties of culinary lavender that are high bud producers, blooming continuously or twice per season, ranging in color from white to deep blue to purple, providing an interesting color contrast in your spice cupboard! The mildly floral notes will enhance a wide range of dishes from sweet to spicy, depending on your chosen end result. We are a young farm starting with wine grapes in 2006, and adding lavender in 2011. Our product line will be continually growing along with our plants! Using no chemicals or pesticides, organic-like techniques, hand picking and pruning, we strive for clean and healthy products. We personally want to be able to use our lavender herbs in what we eat, so assure you of the same care and quality. Our future will bring us expanded edible lavender products, and high caliber True Lavender personal use items. Keep an eye out as we will bring honey to our choices, since in 2013, we started providing a secure place and favorite food for the prized honeybee. They are happy lavender loving bees!

Boo-oo! Good time to get your sachets out!šŸ‘»šŸ¤”šŸ„ø

In folklore, lavender has long been used for protection and purification. Ancient Europeans believed that bundles of lavender hung by the door could ward off evil spirits and the ā€œevil eye.ā€ In medieval times, it was sometimes burned as incense to cleanse a home—a gentler cousin to sage in that role. So, as All Hallows’ Eve approached—the night when spirits were thought to roam more freely—lavender might have been tucked into sachets, hung in doorways, or sprinkled in fires to keep unwanted energies at bay.
