NEW BLOG POST! This wedding at Shearwater Cove was one of those projects that reminded us just how much we love the adventure of making something extraordinary. When Stephanie of Bluebell Events called us about this one, she didn’t have to say much—Karen and I were ALL IN!

Take a peek behind the scenes of our adventure bringing an entire floral production to an off-grid wedding accessible only by boat! We loaded buckets and buckets of Alaska-grown flowers, drove 175 miles, loaded two boats, and jetted across Resurrection Bay. On the other side, we were greeted by the most incredible team, a magical off-grid property, and the coolest wedding guests!

We’re sharing the behind-the-scenes story of our installation for this unforgettable wedding on the blog. And this is only Part One. The professional photographer + videographer goodness is still to come!

Soooo many flowers! And definitely not a bad problem to have.

Today at the Anchorage Midtown Farmers Market is our LAST day for summer subscription pickups — and there’s a little bonus waiting for you, so don’t miss it!

We’re only scheduled at the market through today, but the flowers clearly haven’t gotten the memo. We’ll see how the crops fare over the next week and keep you posted on whether we’ll be back with more!

Farm to Cove — Part 2!

Once the flowers made it across Resurrection Bay and up ALL those stairs, it quickly became clear that we were officially off-grid.

With no cell service and boat-only access, pulling off a wedding out there means thinking through how every person and every piece gets where it needs to go — guests and vendors, flowers and food, rentals and all the little details in between. Bluebell Events took on the logistics of bringing all those moving pieces together in one pretty incredible location.

Walkie-talkies were assigned, call signs were established, and things got entertaining pretty quickly. Stephanie, our fearless planner, was “Alpha.” Chef Judy was “Carrot Cake.” And honestly, the radio commentary throughout the day was comedic gold.

Stephanie and the Bluebell Events crew kept things moving throughout the day — including a last-minute run/hike up the mountain to get the bridal bouquet onto a HELICOPTER. Because apparently the boat ride and the stairs weren’t enough adventure for these flowers.

And then it all came together!

The most beautiful place settings, warm lanterns and candlelight, and our Alaska-grown flowers absolutely showing off in all those rich fall colors.

Off the grid, out of service, and completely worth the adventure. This one is going in the record books for sure!

Farm to Cove — Part 1!

And we mean that pretty literally.

Flowers grown at Mountain Field Farm, harvested fresh, packed up, driven 175 miles to Seward, boated across Resurrection Bay to Shearwater Cove — accessible only by boat — and then sherpa’d up soooo many stairs before eventually making their way from our fields to the wedding tables.

What an epic adventure for a whole lot of flowers — and an epic wedding with an absolute dream team crew! We were blown away by the boat captain, the Shearwater Cove crew and owners, Chef Judy, and all the incredible vendors who made this day happen.

Field → car → boat → cove → stairs → table.

Just wait until you see what we did with them…

And yes. We sherpa’d every last one of those flowers up A LOT of stairs.

We’re doing it again! The farm is FULL of flowers right now, so we’re opening the gates for another Pop-Up!

We’re officially in that glorious late-August moment when the dahlias are showing off, the fields are overflowing, and there is simply too much goodness not to share.

Come spend the afternoon at the farm, wander the grounds, see what’s blooming, and shop freshly harvested Alaska-grown flowers straight from our fields.

We’ll have loads of beautiful blooms available to take home — dahlias, snapdragons, and all kinds of seasonal treasures coming out of the field right now.

No tickets, no big agenda. Just a Sunday afternoon at the farm, a whole lot of flowers, and an excuse to soak up the last bits of an Alaska summer.
