What makes the Alaska State Fair so unique is how it celebrates the families who came to Alaska, colonized, built communities, and shared the skills they relied on for survival—from hunting, foraging and growing food to, preserving vegetables for the long winter months ahead.

Did you know the history of pickles at the Alaska State Fair dates all the way back to the very first fair in 1936?

Pickles have had their place in Alaskan history for many years and we’re proud to carry on that tradition🫡💚
