Sun Circle Farm Offering fresh, healthy, USDA Certified Organic produce and flowers from our family to yours. We never use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.

Sun Circle Farm is a small family farm run by Anne-Corinne Kell with the help of her daughters Trillium and Leila and a wonderful farm crew. At Sun Circle Farm we offer a large variety of high-quality fresh produce and flowers. It is our belief that when we view the farm as a whole and focus on putting in place complimentary systems including happy healthy animals and biologically diverse plant ro

tations we move towards farm-generated fertility and true sustainability. While we generally follow USDA organic methods at a minimum, we strive to go further by minimizing imported or overly processed amendments and fertilizers. We love farming and take great pride in continuing to learn and to improve our products in order to bring you the best-tasting and healthiest fresh produce possible.

While we escaped the first cold night without a real frost, we were not so lucky the second time around. We woke up this morning to frost coating flowers and veggies and all of the remay coverings. September 2nd is officially the earliest frost we’ve seen at our farm while farming here. While we think most things made it through, we definitely lost a few and it will take things warming up to know for sure. You can see in some of these pictures where exposed leaves around the edges of remay on our dahlias and zucchini got hit. That being said, many veggies and flowers did come through unscathed and we are looking ahead at considerably warmer nighttime temps. Hopefully this season is still far from over!

Important reminder that fresh veggie season is nowhere close to winding down just because the rain has started (again). In fact, most of us local farmers are just now starting to harvest the majority of our crops at peak season quantities. Likewise, most of us are just starting to make the profits that will see us through to next season. So even with school starting, the fair coming up, and the weather shifting, please keep coming out and supporting your local farmers! And the best part is this means many more weeks of fresh, local veggies for you and your families! You can find us with all of these veggies plus flowers and more at the Matanuska Community Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 4-7 and at the South Anchorage Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9-2.

We hope you all aren’t sick of sunflowers yet! We will have tons of sunflowers bunches, as well as lots of all our usual mixed bouquets and jars at South Anchorage Farmers Market tomorrow from 9-2. We also have carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, beets, and so much more! It finally feels like summer and the harvest is reflecting the weather. August is here! That means that we are getting into peak harvest season, even with the weird slow season we’ve been having. We will have carrots, beets, broccoli, celery, zucchini, the first few cauliflower, and so much more at Matanuska Community Farmers Market today from 4-7! The sun came out and so did the sunflowers!! We finally have sunflowers and the very first of the dahlias, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Come out and see us at South Anchorage Farmers Market tomorrow from 9-2 to soak up some sunshine and get your fresh veggies and flowers. And Palmer friends keep an eye out for some other new crops we’re hoping to have available at Matanuska Community Farmers Market on Wednesday 👀. We are now into what should be peony season on the farm, and we’ve started getting a lot of questions about when we will have peonies. So to get ahead of those questions, the answer is we will not have peonies this year. We had a very harsh winter and we lost about 90% of our peony plants, as well as many of our other perennials. While we are at least as sad as all of you that we won’t have any peonies for you all this year, we will rebuild our perennial garden. But as many of you know these plants take time to mature so we will all have to be patient. In the meantime we do have lots of other flowers and we will keep showing up for you all with everything we have while we wait for summer to hopefully visit again and convince a few more veggies to join the party!

Weekly reminder that we exist and that we’ll be at south Anchorage farmers market tomorrow from 9-2! And we don’t want to jinx anything, but barring any more tire-related disasters we should even be there by 9 this week! (With a caravan of vehicles until we get Bob the box truck back 😔). Come out and say hi and stock up on fresh veggies and flowers! We also have flowers stocked in our self-serve cooler at the farm.

We WILL be at market tomorrow on the 4th! And we will even have some new and exciting crops including kohlrabi! If you’re not out of town for the long weekend, the farmers market is the best place to spend your Fourth of July! Or at least a perfect pit stop to pick up flowers and veggies on your way to whatever other festivities you might have planned (because what better way to celebrate the place you live than to support local businesses😉).
