I am so blessed to be in a space to do what I love while celebrating this small town I so lovingly call home.
This was my 4th opportunity providing the snacks for Fireside Books Alaska for the Palmer Museum of History & Art Wine Walk. And while MarryAnn likes to keep it simple, the job never goes without a challenge. 400 skewers served with fresh made sourdough focacia.
And for the 3rd time providing the snacks for Misfit Consignment with 200 No bake cheeses cake deviled strawberries and 200 pear and goat cheese Crostinis.

Summer in Alaska his a little different, and AKRhymFest is proof of that.
9 years ago, my dear friend Devon Shaw and some of his closest collaborators hosted a little hip hop festival in a field in Meadow Lakes, Alaska. That little festival, has since turned into an all in celebration of local Rap and R&B artists, featuring and launching individuals and groups from all over the state.
No this is not a nationally acclaimed showcase, no there isn't an endless budget to put it all in motion each year, no there are no world wide traveling artists showing up to perform on our humble stages. What this event has is TRUE grassroots Alaskan made performers, small business support and a growing Community First mission to bring light to what Alaska has to offer in the way of Rhythm And Poetry.
Recently adding a Burlesque element to the showcase, the creative team is moved to broadening the event with talent beyond the vocally blessed. Karisma Ak and her Royal Kourt gems are a rising star in the entertainment circle, and I'm absolutely here for it!
Thank you to the team at for the opportunity to reach a new audience with our business and bringing some of our favorite people together.

🎨🍷 Calling All Artists! 🍷🎨

The Palmer Museum of History and Art is looking for local artists to paint wine glasses for our Summer Wine Walk on July 24, 2026!

Artists will be provided with wine glasses to transform into unique, hand-painted works of art. These glasses will be featured during the Wine Walk and help support the museum's programs and exhibits.

We encourage artists to think of each glass as a miniature art piece and showcase their creativity!
