We are getting our perennials in place this year!! So far we already have rhubarb, chives, and horseradish. We are putting in place this year asparagus, lovage, Egyptian walking onions, sun chokes, and tree collards. Hopefully we can make our land more depression-proof every year!

I love the idea of planting once and getting food for years 🌱 These are the perennial edibles I’d look into if you want a lower-maintenance harvest:
🥬 Reliable spring growers: Asparagus, rhubarb, sorrel, and chives can come back year after year.
🌿 Useful kitchen herbs: Garlic chives, lovage, and perennial onions are great if you cook with fresh flavor often.
🥔 More unusual choices: Sunchokes, sea kale, scorzonera, and Good King Henry are fun if you like trying less common crops.
💧 Moisture lovers: Watercress needs consistently wet conditions, so it’s not one I’d plant just anywhere.
My tip: always check your growing zone first. Some perennial veggies are easy in one climate and fussy in another.

Getting the ground ready to plant some asparagus! There was a lot more rocks than I was anticipating 🫣
