Some seasons of life are just really hard. There are moments when you don’t understand why things are happening, and all you can do is cling tight to your faith and trust that God is there, even when you can’t see what he is doing. The sun still rises, morning still comes and Gods mercy is there waiting for us when it does.

I know some of you saw my post Saturday saying we wouldn’t be at the market due to a family emergency, and I had several people reach out with prayers and concern. ❤️ I didn’t want anyone to worry that something had happened to me, Logan or one of the kids. We do have a very dear family member in the hospital that we love very much, and at the same time, we were dealing with a significant setback with Habibi’s eye.

Our trainer, Penny, took Habibi home with her so that she can provide him with continued care at her stable. We are already seeing a significant improvement in his eye, which has been such a relief.

While we have a run-in shed where our horses can shelter during bad weather, we don’t have a barn that is equipped for the kind of close, long-term care Habibi needs right now. When we saw his eye take such a significant turn for the worse on Saturday, Penny Zeller immediately stepped up and offered to take him home with her. We are incredibly grateful that he is somewhere he can be monitored closely and cared for around the clock.

I jumped into equestrianism thinking I was prepared. I was wrong. 😂 There are apparently some lessons you just can’t prepare yourself for.

Between caring for Habibi and having a dear family member in the hospital, we simply weren’t able to be at the market Saturday.

We are so incredibly grateful for the faithful members of the Palmyra Farmers Market, Indiana who stepped up once again to help fill the void. And we are especially grateful for our local community for continuing to show up and support our vendors, even with everything else happening in the area.

It takes a village sometimes, and we are feeling very thankful for ours. ❤️
