Morning y’all. I’m out watering the strawberries at 7am because it hasn’t rained! Usually I’m saying, guess I’ll mud these plants in the ground. Instead I’m putting the task of setting up the irrigation system at the top of the to do list.

We are moving and expanding our grapevines. They will now be located between the blueberries and blackberries. We are going to plant concord for sure. When I get the other varieties I’ll post them.

Springtime has to be the busiest time of year for us. Finishing maple syrup while starting all of our summer jobs. Pruning the fruit trees in the orchard, building our fence, fertilizing, starting early crops, the list goes on.

We are always working on getting ready for the next season. As we are cleaning and packing up everything from the syrup season we are getting the trails ready for the tractor. Mowing season will be here before we know it! Right now we are also putting a lot of time in the orchard. I think I counted 43 trees that need to be pruned.
Everything has the first round of fertilizer and dormant oil spray. We have also used the wood ash from syrup boiling around all the trees in the orchard, blackberries, and garden. We sprinkled coffee grounds in the asparagus and blueberries.
